300 Series

The Mechelonic Engineers spot/projection controller model ME-311 is a development of Mechelonic Engineers experience and interactive association with users of resistance welding Machines.

General Construction:

The controller uses plug in system for all the PCB’s for convenience and better serviceability. All the cards are housed in a compact but robust IP 42 enclosure, which is mounted on the machine frame with special anti vibration mounts to reduce any vibrations or shock to the controller.

The controller connects to any power thyristors through a plug and socket arrangement.

The controller consists of the entire timer unit comprising of 4 timers namely the squeeze, weld, hold and off timers and the firing assembly. All timers are non-synchronous settable from 1 to 99 cycles infinitely, except the weld timer which is synchronous and settable upto 19 cycles only.

The heat control unit is based on a phase shifted firing of the thyristors, which enables smooth and continuous weld current from 10% to 99%. The circuit is also incorporates a AUTOMATIC POWER COMPENSATION adjustment, the firing angle is automatically adjusted to compensate for a rise or dip in the line voltage to ensure constancy of the welding current selected in the initial adjustment.

The front panel of the controller consists of the switches and the pots for setting of the different timers. Indicators are provided on the front panel, which enable to observe the operation sequence.
